Tom Blampied
Tom Blampied
Director
Tom’s strength lies in empowering clients by making complex insurance programs simple to understand and building tailored solutions. He has a history of successfully delivering large claim settlements, and his ability to create simplicity while guiding clients through a typically complex industry brings lasting success.
Starting his career in insurance at just 18, Tom brings over two decades of hands-on experience to his clients working across a wide variety of sectors, including NZX-listed companies, Marine, Art, Property, and Aviation coverage.
He’s passionate about his clients and understands how good advice and a partnership can make the difference between an organisation succeeding and failing. He acts with integrity and holds honesty and transparency as core values.
Tom is a fisherman, hunter, private pilot and conservationist based in Mount Maunganui with his two boys and wife.

Dave is an insurance professional with extensive experience in General Insurance Broking. He excels in simplifying insurance, building lasting relationships, and loves getting claims paid for his clients.
Having previously worked for two of the largest global broking houses, he is thrilled to be continuing his insurance journey with the high performing team at Citadel Insurance. Dave is a top golfer, surfer, and a keen snowboarder who travels the world in search of the best fresh powder.

With 14 years of insurance experience in the rural sector, Tom specialises in managing large-scale rural and commercial risk. His deep understanding of the primary sector is anchored by an Agribusiness degree from Massey University and extensive international experience across New Zealand, Canada, and England. Because he grew up on a sheep and beef farm in Gisborne, we hear he handles a wave pretty well too.
Prior to joining Citadel, Tom held a senior management role at New Zealand's leading rural insurer, so he understands how risk is assessed and managed at scale across the primary sector. A natural people person, Tom leads with a client-first approach, delivering tailored advice for business owners.
You will find Tom surfing or fishing along the Mount Maunganui coastline, where he lives with his wife and two children.

Jess is an account broker. She makes sure clients receive outstanding service and support. She thrives on the dynamic environment at Citadel Insurance, where no two days are ever the same, and she values the opportunity to make a real difference for clients every day. Jess enjoys being part of the high-performing Citadel team and finds it rewarding to be in a workplace that’s both energetic and supportive.
Outside of work, Jess is always ready for a new adventure whether it be on her Harley or off-road adventures in the 4x4 finding mud, navigating diverse terrains and overcoming obstacles. She’s also passionate about crafting and loves bringing creative projects to life in her spare time. Whether she’s exploring new places or diving into her next handmade creation, Jess brings enthusiasm and a sense of adventure to everything she does.

Becky is an Account Broker who brings warmth and ease to every client interaction, making insurance feel straightforward and accessible. Renowned for her thoughtful approach, Becky is dedicated to guiding Citadel Insurance clients through the intricacies of cover and claims with genuine care and transparency. Having previously worked for a large global brokerage, she’s very proud to be part of the Citadel team. She is committed to continuing to foster enduring relationships and deliver exceptional results for each client she supports.
Outside the office, Becky is busy with her two sport-obsessed sons. To relax, she enjoys sunrise walks, pilates, and getting stuck into a good book. Originally from the UK, living and working in Mount Maunganui is more than a lifestyle, it’s home.

Claudia Vianello
Claudia Vianello
Operations and Compliance Manager
Claudia brings an unusually broad background to her role at Citadel, which spans compliance and regulatory matters, and business operations. Before joining Citadel, she spent a decade leading regulatory and operational functions at one of New Zealand's largest NZX-listed energy companies. She has a sharp commercial instinct and an understanding of how organisations in regulated industries manage risk, obligations, and complexity at scale.
She holds a Master of Public Policy from the University of Auckland, post graduate papers in competition law and economic regulation, and practical knowledge that doesn't come from a classroom. Working closely across the team, Claudia ensures Citadel's regulatory and compliance obligations and its internal frameworks are in order so that our advisers can focus entirely on what matters most: being there for our clients.
Outside of work, Claudia is happiest playing her guitar, sitting by a fire or the ocean with her husband and two kids.
